Proceed to Belize Immigration where you will need to furnish your passport along with proof of your return. If you're flying to Belize from the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom, you do not require a visa.
Carry on to retrieve your luggage and proceed to Customs where you must declare what you are bringing into Belize. Items of a personal nature, cameras, laptops and the like are not subject to any customs duties provided that you will take them back home with you.
Although you are not dinged an entry fee for coming into Belize, you will pay a departure fee ~ ascertain whether this departure fee is included in the price of your ticket before you depart for Belize.
The average time for going through Immigration and Customs at the Belize International Airport is 1/2 to 3/4 hour.
Then, it's time to slide into your sandals and enjoy the next leg of your journey from Belize City to Ambergris Caye. Commuter flights from Belize City to the San Pedro Airstrip are available via Tropic Air . Just so you start getting into the Belizean groove sooner rather than later, be aware that the largest of Tropic Air's planes is a 14-seater. Maya Island Air also offers commuter flights from Belize City to San Pedro. Maya Island Air's largest plane is a 12-passenger Cessna Caravan.
The commuter flight from Belize City to San Pedro takes about 20 minutes ~ 20 glorious minutes which will transport you from Belize City to Ambergris Caye, a short trip to Paradise by any compass!
Once in San Pedro, hop a taxi to your destination. Then, slip out of those sandals and dig your toes into the clean, white sand of Ambergris Caye.
